The Science Of Psychopathy

Into The Minds Of Psychopaths

Psychopathy is a mental illness. It often relates to being easily angered, glibness, being irresponsible, and lacking guilt and empathy. While this puts psychopaths in a bad light, psychopaths can function in society like most. Unfortunately, it is more likely for them to cause trouble and use manipulation.

TRAILER

Psychopathy is very serious. It is mostly known as a mental disease, but it affects both the nervous system and the circulatory system negatively.

The Nervous System

The Nervous System is a body system that sends nerve impulses from body system to body system and is controlled by the brain, the spinal cord, and nerve fibers.

The Nervous System is affected by psychopathy through the brain. The brains of psychopaths have reduced connections between the ventromedial prefrontal cortex and the amygdala. This results in a lack of the already mentioned sentiments and emotions. Without these sentiments and emotions, psychopaths use manipulation, have an inflated self-worth, have a lack of self-control, and don't take responsibility for anything.

The Circulatory System

The Circulatory System is the body system that circulates blood and lymph throughout your body. It consists of the heart, blood vessels, and lymphatic vessels and glands.

The Circulatory System is affected by psychopathy by lowered heart rate. Low physiological arousal and low heart rate are connected to psychopathy. One human emotion is autonomic arousal, which raises heart rate. In the end, low autonomic arousal can cause traits like extreme aggression. Traits like that can easily relate to psychopathy.

An Additional Side Effect

An additional effect of psychopathy relates to the muscular system. If heart rate gets too low, it is identified as Bradycardia. One effect of Bradycardia is not being able to do a lot of physical activity without a large threat. This could cause your muscles to start shrinking overtime. This depends on how little you exercise due to the Bradycardia.

The Overall Effect Of Psychopathy

The overall effect that psychopathy has on the human body is large. Psychopaths lack empathy, guilt, fear, and anxiety. The result is the use of manipulation, not taking responsibility, luring through fake charm, and inflated self worth. Psychopaths are also angry, due to lack of autonomic arousal and low heart rate. Low heart rate can also affect the wellness of the muscular system. In the end, the effects of psychopathy are devastating.
